Crumb and Get It

August 16, 2012

An honest-to-goodness family business in Virginia—a cookie company/storefront called Crumb and Get It—turned down VP Biden’s people, who wanted that business to be a campaign stop. The owners weren’t happy with the "you didn’t build that" remark that Obama made not too long ago, so they said "No."

Allegedly, Secret Service agents went back to the store, thanked the owners for turning down the Veep, and bought a bunch of goodies. Oh, I hope this really happened.

The really neat part is that Crumb and Get It was flooded with business after word of the owners’ refusal to let Biden in got out. In fact, some people are saying that the shop had to close down early because they ran out of everything. What a great example of voting with your wallet—it’s not just about refusing to support people or businesses we dislike.
